is this the clean city???

It was the first time i was going to stay away from my parents... I knew i won't be back to home for next ten months... i knew i had to leave behind everything that was dear to me...i was going to enter a new world... i had a lot of dreams in my mind... and as i entered the bus station to board my bus a piercing smell entered my nostrils... i turned around and found this pile of wastes... dumped right where hundreds of people come n go daily...stray dogs wandering in and around the place...right at the heart of the city...making a nasty feeling...wiping away my dreams ... is this the clean green city of calicut???

ആശുപത്രിയിലെ അച്ചാച്ചൻ

തുടച്ചു മിനുക്കിയ ആ  വരാന്തയിൽ നിരത്തിയിട്ട കസേരകളിൽ പ്രായം ചെന്ന കുറെ മനുഷ്യർ ഇരുന്നു പഴയ കാലത്തിന്റെ ഓർമ്മകൾ അയവിറക്കുന്നു . അവർക്കിടയിലിരുന്ന് കൂട്ടിനു വന്ന പുതിയ തലമുറ മൊബൈലിൽ കുത്തി ഇരിക്കുന്നു. മുന്നിലെ ചുമരിൽ ഇടയ്ക്കിടെ തെളിയുന്ന ടോക്കൺ നമ്പറിൽ ഉറ്റു നോക്കികൊണ്ട് ഞാൻ ആ വരിയിലെ അവസാനത്തെ കസേരയിൽ ഇരുന്നു . വല്യച്ചന് കൂട്ട് വന്നതാണ് . കുറച്ചു നാൾ ആയി വയറിൽ ഒരു ചെറിയ വേദനയുണ്ട് .മേലാകെ  ഒരു ചൊറിച്ചിലും. പിത്ത സഞ്ചിയിൽ കല്ലോ മറ്റോ ആകുമെന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു പരിശോധനക്കായി കൂട്ടി  കൊണ്ടു വന്നതാണ് വല്യച്ചനെ . സ്കാൻ ചെയ്തപ്പോൾ ദേ യൂറിറ്ററിൽ  ഒരു മുഴ . കാൻസർ ആണത്രേ . ഉള്ളിൽ ഇത്തിരി ഭയം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നെങ്കിലും , ഓപ്പറേഷൻ ചെയ്ത് ആ മുഴ എടുത്തു കളഞ്ഞ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ ഭയവും ഓടിപ്പോയി . ഇപ്പൊ പിത്ത സഞ്ചി കൂടെ എടുത്തു കളയാൻ ഉള്ള തീയതി കുറിക്കാൻ ഡോക്ടറെ  വന്നതാണ് . ബുക്ക് ചെയ്ത സമയം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടിപ്പോ രണ്ടു  മണിക്കൂർ ആയി . മറ്റു രോഗികളോട് ക്യാന്സറിനെ നേരിട്ട കഥകൾ പറഞ്ഞു വല്യച്ഛൻ സമയം പോയതൊന്നും അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ല . ഞാൻ ആണെങ്കിൽ ചായ കുടിക്കാൻ സ്ഥലം നോക്കി ചുറ്റിനും കണ്ണോടിച്ചു കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു . ...

This day has the smell of death , of thousands of young minds across the nation.. A nation where half of the people die without food, and another half die of over eating...
