ആശുപത്രിയിലെ അച്ചാച്ചൻ

തുടച്ചു മിനുക്കിയ ആ  വരാന്തയിൽ നിരത്തിയിട്ട കസേരകളിൽ പ്രായം ചെന്ന കുറെ മനുഷ്യർ ഇരുന്നു പഴയ കാലത്തിന്റെ ഓർമ്മകൾ അയവിറക്കുന്നു . അവർക്കിടയിലിരുന്ന് കൂട്ടിനു വന്ന പുതിയ തലമുറ മൊബൈലിൽ കുത്തി ഇരിക്കുന്നു. മുന്നിലെ ചുമരിൽ ഇടയ്ക്കിടെ തെളിയുന്ന ടോക്കൺ നമ്പറിൽ ഉറ്റു നോക്കികൊണ്ട് ഞാൻ ആ വരിയിലെ അവസാനത്തെ കസേരയിൽ ഇരുന്നു . വല്യച്ചന് കൂട്ട് വന്നതാണ് . കുറച്ചു നാൾ ആയി വയറിൽ ഒരു ചെറിയ വേദനയുണ്ട് .മേലാകെ  ഒരു ചൊറിച്ചിലും. പിത്ത സഞ്ചിയിൽ കല്ലോ മറ്റോ ആകുമെന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു പരിശോധനക്കായി കൂട്ടി  കൊണ്ടു വന്നതാണ് വല്യച്ചനെ . സ്കാൻ ചെയ്തപ്പോൾ ദേ യൂറിറ്ററിൽ  ഒരു മുഴ . കാൻസർ ആണത്രേ . ഉള്ളിൽ ഇത്തിരി ഭയം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നെങ്കിലും , ഓപ്പറേഷൻ ചെയ്ത് ആ മുഴ എടുത്തു കളഞ്ഞ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ ഭയവും ഓടിപ്പോയി . ഇപ്പൊ പിത്ത സഞ്ചി കൂടെ എടുത്തു കളയാൻ ഉള്ള തീയതി കുറിക്കാൻ ഡോക്ടറെ  വന്നതാണ് . ബുക്ക് ചെയ്ത സമയം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടിപ്പോ രണ്ടു  മണിക്കൂർ ആയി . മറ്റു രോഗികളോട് ക്യാന്സറിനെ നേരിട്ട കഥകൾ പറഞ്ഞു വല്യച്ഛൻ സമയം പോയതൊന്നും അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ല . ഞാൻ ആണെങ്കിൽ ചായ കുടിക്കാൻ സ്ഥലം നോക്കി ചുറ്റിനും കണ്ണോടിച്ചു കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു . ...

Smell of death...

This day has the smell of death , of thousands of young minds across the nation.. A nation where half of the people die without food, and another half die of over eating... A nation where people preach and praise the lord and then fight with their neighbours in the name of the same lord... A nation where money rules the minds, where geniuses are born and criminals and brought up, where you and me knows each other over internet, but resents to talk or even smile in person... This is a globalised nation where your sorrows are marketed, sensations are appreciated, and the victims are advertised ... Open your eyes ... For there is death around you, snatching your soul, your creativity, your intelligence and your self...!
